https://www.ted.com/talks/mick_ebeling_the_invention_that_unlocked_a_locked_in_artist       After watching the TED Talk by Mick Ebeling and hearing about the story of the artist who developed ALS and lost all function in his body, I wonder why the “Steven Hawking” machines are not made more available to people with severe ALS? My grandmother has had ALS for a very long time, but has not progressed to the point of no mobility, making her a very rare case. I am thankful that she is able to communicate, but I feel for those people that cannot communicate and cannot afford the speech machines with their insurance. I believe that people should have the ability to communicate, no matter who they are.
